Green Knights Take Fourth Place at MWC Championship

GRINNELL, Iowa - St. Norbert College registered a fourth-place team finish at the Midwest Conference Championship hosted by Grinnell College at Osgood Pool.

The Green Knights had their highest conference finish since a third-place showing in 2004. St. Norbert totaled 315 points - a 73-point improvement over last season - to top fifth-place Illinois College's 283 points. Lake Forest College won the conference title with 898 points, nipping Grinnell's 879.5 points. Lawrence University finished in third place with 429.5 points.

Rachel Koch set a new St. Norbert record in the 200-yard butterfly with a sixth-place finish at 2:17.96. Katelyn Holmstrom was sixth in the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:34.45, while MWC Elite 20 Award recipient Kirsten Williams was ninth at 2:41.24.

Amelia Wilcox, Clare Santas, Koch and Sophia Thompson were sixth in the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:49.15. Natalie Norton finished in eighth place in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 19:01.77.

Thompson finished 11th in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:30.52. Jennifer Kubowski was 11th in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:19.89, followed by Kristina Biundo in 12th place at 2:21.42 and Crystal Schuster in 15th place at 2:26.21. Wilcox finished in 14th place in the 100-yard freestyle in 56.98 seconds, followed by Santas in 15th place in 57.25.
