St. Norbert Runs to Ripon College Sherman-Lukoski Invite Title

RIPON - St. Norbert College received several strong performances in frigid conditions to capture the championship of the Sherman-Lukoski Invitational at Ripon College's Ingalls Field.

The Green Knights won the championship with 153 points. St. Norbert edged out NCAA Division II foe Michigan Tech University for the title, with the Huskies totaling 135 points. Ripon was in third with 115 points.

Nikki Swanson won both the 100- and 200-meter dashes. Swanson ran the 100 in a time of 13.42 seconds, and followed with a run of 27.74 seconds in the 200. Emily Schudrowitz was first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:02.20, and was runner-up to Swanson in the 200 with a sprint of 27.88 seconds.

Anne Mueller was first in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.33 seconds, and placed second in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:17.11. Hope Kovala also fared well in the hurdles with a pair of third-place finishes in the 100 (18.20 seconds) and 400 (1:23.64).

St. Norbert's 4x100-meter relay team placed first with a time of 53.55 seconds. Katie Meyer, Mueller, Swanson and Danielle Krause comprised the quartet.

Kayla Franklin, Krause and Lindsey Novitzke swept the top three places in the pole vault with heights of 8 feet and 1/2 inch, 7-6 1/2 and 7-6 1/2, respectively.

Megan Domnick was third in the 400 with a time of 1:05.74 and fourth in the 200 with a time of 28.91 seconds.
