St. Norbert Places Fifth at UW-Oshkosh Invitational

OSHKOSH - The St. Norbert College men's track and field team finished in fifth place among 12 teams at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational at Titan Stadium.

The Green Knights totaled 44.5 points. UW-Eau Claire won the meet with 251.5 points, while UW-Oshkosh had 244.5 points to finish second.

Jordan Gobert had St. Norbert's highest individual finish with a second-place finish in the javelin throw. Gobert's distance of 153 feet 7 inches was just two inches off the first-place length. Connor Thornton was seventh in the javelin at 133-9.

Dann Schneider was third in the triple jump with a distance of 42 feet, 5 1/4 inches. Schneider added a fifth place in the long jump at 21-2 1/2.

Alex DeVillers was fourth in the 5,000-meter run, registering a time of 15:38.03. John Barrett was sixth in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:12.31, and placed seventh in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:02.13.

Tony Dionne was sixth in the shot put with a heave of 43-7 1/4, while Tony Grossman was seventh in the pole vault with a cleared height of 12-5 1/2.

St. Norbert's 4x100-meter relay of Dustin Dessell, Paul Leeman, Schneider and David Mason was fourth with a time of 44.75 seconds.
