Green Knights Claim Wisconsin Lutheran Invite Title

WAUWATOSA - St. Norbert College received several strong performances to win the championship of the Wisconsin Lutheran Invitational.

The Green Knights totaled 153 points to finished well ahead of runner-up Marquette, which had 124 points. Wisconsin Lutheran was third with 93.5 points.

St. Norbert won all four relays. Marisa Trakanovich, Ashley Graybill, Nikki Swanson and Danielle Krause won the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 51.65 seconds. Megan Domnick, Hope Kovala, Kayla Franklin and Jenny Scherer won the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:48.27.

Kovala, Domnick, Swanson and Graybill then won the 800-meter sprint medley with a time of 1:49.43. Graybill, Trakanovich, Domnick and Melissa Menne then rounded out the sweep with a win in the distance medley relay with a time of 13:29.48.

Scherer claimed St. Norbert's other event championship with a time of 11:26.78 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

Krause finished second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.66 seconds. Emily Schudrowitz was second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.02, and added a third-place showing in the 200 with a time of 27.30 seconds. Domnick was third in the 400 with a time of 1:03.36.

In field events, Kelsey Marsh was second in the javelin throw with a distance of 88 feet 9 inches and added a third in the shot put at 30 feet 5 inches. Sarah DeShambo was third in the javelin at 85-11. Swanson was third in the triple jump with a leap of 32 feet 3 inches.
