Schneider Fuels Fifth-Place Finish for Men's Thinclads at MWC Meet

WAUKESHA - Dann Schneider was named a Most Outstanding Performer and paced St. Norbert College to a fifth-place finish at the Midwest Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship held at Carroll University.

The Green Knights totaled 98 points to finish fifth. Monmouth College won the championship with 194 points, while Illinois College was second with 145 points. Carroll and Grinnell College were tied for third with 116 points.

Schneider won the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.41 seconds, and placed second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.20 seconds. He was also seventh in both the long jump and triple jump.

Alex DeVillers set a school record with a time of 9 minutes 46.04 seconds in the 3,000-meter steeplechase to place second. DeVillers was second in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 33:10.71 and was fourth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:44.62.

Jordan Gobert was third in the pole vault, clearing a height of 4.09 meters. Paul Leeman placed fourth in the high jump at 1.90 meters. The St. Norbert 4x400-meter relay team was third with a time of 3:24.00, and the 4x100-meter relay squad was fourth in 43.26 seconds.

John Barrett was fifth in the 800-meter run in 1:58.89, while Jon O'Brien was fifth in the 10,000-meter run in 33:28.89. Brent Schreiber was fifth in the long jump at 6.72 meters, while Paul Leeman was fifth in the triple jump at 13.62 meters. Bret Blozinski rounded out St. Norbert's top-five finishes with a heave of 40.71 meters in the shot put.
