Green Knights Rout Finlandia

HANCOCK, Mich. - St. Norbert College's men's soccer team made its first trip to the Keweenaw Peninsula a successful one with a 6-0 non-conference win over Finlandia University.

The Green Knights wasted little time taking command of their season opener. Ben Vanden Avond scored 10 minutes into the match, and the Green Knights were the beneficiary of an own goal in the 24th minute.

St. Norbert took a 4-0 lead into the halftime break with goals by Donny Baloun and Kevin Conrath. Adam Sanchez scored in the first minute of the second half and Baloun scored his second marker of the game in the 66th minute to round out the scoring.

St. Norbert outshot the Lions 24-3, including a decisive 13-0 advantage in the first half. Joe Schwartz made one save in 66:25 of action, while Nolan Picchietti had two stops in just over 23 minutes.
