Green Knights Repeat as Tom Barry Invite Champions

GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College's men's cross country team captured the championship of the 35th Annual Tom Barry Invitational held at Colburn Park.

The Green Knights scored 42 points to handily win the event, earning at least a share of its fourth straight title. The Tom Barry championship was St. Norbert's 14th men's title. Carroll was the runner-up with 79 points. The St. Norbert Alumni were eighth with 197 points.

St. Norbert alumnus Jeff Pentek won the individual championship for the fourth consecutive year, winning two intercollegiately and two as an alumnus. Pentek's time of 20 minutes 32 seconds was just three seconds off the meet record he set in 2008 on the 4 mile course. Carroll's Anthony Sobrilsky was second at 20:53.

Alex DeVillers was St. Norbert's top finisher with a third-place time of 21:05. Jon O'Brien was seventh with a time of 21:14, while Aaron Roden was ninth at 21:49. Mackenzie Laska placed tenth with a run of 22:00. Kory Baker rounded out St. Norbert's scorers with a time of 22:05 to place 13th.

Seth Hawkins and Benji Wetli placed sixth and seventh for St. Norbert and 14th and 18th overall, respectively, in times of 22:10 and 22:24.

For the alumni, Mike Jacques was sixth with a time of 21:12. Steve Pehowski was third for the alumni with an 85th-place finish in 25:40.
