Graybill Sets School Record in Indoor 600 as Green Knights Place Fifth

KENOSHA - Ashley Graybill set a St. Norbert College indoor record in the 600-meter run as the women's track and field team placed fifth at the Tadd Metzger Invitational at Carthage College.

NCAA Division I Northern Illinois won the women's meet with 197 points, followed by Aquinas with 93, Carthage with 81 and Hope with 64.5. The Green Knights finished fifth with 61.5 points, 4.5 points ahead of NCAA Division II UW-Parkside's 57.

Graybill ran the 600 in a time of 1:37.40 to win the event by almost three full seconds. Graybill also figured in a pair of St. Norbert relays that finished second.

The St. Norbert 4x400-meter relay placed second with a time of 4:09.45, with the relay consisting of Graybill, Katie Meyer, Stacy Holmberg and Emily Sommers. The St. Norbert distance medley placed second with a time of 12:43.39, with Graybill, Jenny Scherer, Jenna Kick and Meyer running on that relay.

The St. Norbert 4x200-meter relay also placed second, running in a time of 1:52.20. Melissa Fabry, Marisa Trakanovich, Holmberg and Meyer were on that relay.

Scherer placed third in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:36.25. Fabry was third in the long jump with a leap of 17-2.25 and seventh in the triple jump at 31-9.25. Trakanovich was fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:03.60.
