St. Norbert Pitches Shutout Against Illinois College

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - St. Norbert College pushed its winning streak to four games with a 4-0 win over Illinois College in a Midwest Conference women's soccer game at England Stadium.
The Green Knights improved to 8-6 overall and 6-1 in the MWC, while the Lady Blues dropped to 2-11-1, 0-7.
St. Norbert did not get on the scoreboard until just before halftime, when Caitlin Carrigan scored unassisted for her second goal of the year at 44 minutes 9 seconds.
The Green Knights would registered three second-half goals. Stephanie Gatyas scored unassisted at 64:32 for her 10th goal of the season. Ann Maki followed with an unassisted goal at 74:32 for her fourth goal of the year. Jessica Schadrie closed out the scoring for her ninth goal of the year with a marker assisted by Brittany Kosubucki at 76:27.
St. Norbert outshot Illinois College 14-5 and held a commanding 9-2 edge in corner kicks. Cara Tazioli made four saves for St. Norbert for her first shutout of the season. Courtney Mersinger made five stops in net for the Lady Blues.
