St. Norbert Advances to MWC Title Match With Rout of Ripon

DE PERE - St. Norbert College advanced to the championship game of the Midwest Conference Women's Volleyball Tournament with a three-set win over Ripon College at Schuldes Sports Center.

The Green Knights (23-9) will face Beloit College (24-5) in the tournament championship at 1 p.m. Saturday at Schuldes Sports Center for the MWC's automatic berth into the NCAA Division III Tournament.

St. Norbert didn't waste much time in topping Ripon for the fourth time this season. The Green Knights won by scores of 25-15, 25-16, 25-16.

St. Norbert hit .200 in the match, and got eight kills from Lauren Meehan and seven from Sarah Sulentic. St. Norbert had 31 kills against nine errors in 110 attempts. Laura Ayello added 27 assists, and Catherine Guido had 20 digs. Danielle Remy had four blocks.

Ripon hit .074, with 29 kills and 20 errors in 122 attempts. Anna Alvin had 11 kills, while Alison Ernst had 20 assists. Sara Heim had 17 digs.
