Green Knights Grind Out Win Over Ripon

DE PERE - The St. Norbert College women's basketball team held on to win a 65-50 decision over Ripon College in a Midwest Conference women's basketball game at Schuldes Sports Center.

The Green Knights improved to 10-1 in the Midwest Conference and are 14-4 overall. Ripon fell to 4-14, 1-10 in the MWC.

St. Norbert appeared to be in trouble when it trailed Riopon 34-28 with 16:07 left to play. But the Green Knights went on an 18-2 run over the next five minutes to take a 46-36 advantage.

Ripon cut the deficit to 48-44 with 6:27 left to play, but St. Norbert then went on a 16-2 run to take a 62-46 lead with 1:20 left to salt away the win.

Ten different players scored for the Green Knights. Bri Hauge came off the bench to lead St. Norbert, scoring 11 points. Linsey Propson scored 10 points, while Morgan Strasser chipped in with nine points. St. Norbert shot 43.3 percent from the floor, making 26 of 60 shots.

Ripon was led by Emily Meyer's 11 points and 11 rebounds. Jeni Yaeger added 10 points for the Red Hawks. Ripon shot 35.6 percent from the floor, making 21 of 59 shots from the floor. Ripon outrebounded 41-33.
