Heuser Leads St. Norbert Past Knox

DE PERE - St. Norbert College senior guard Denise Heuser scored 20 points to help lead the Green Knights to a 78-52 Midwest Conference win over Knox College at Schuldes Sports Center.

The Green Knights improved to 8-3 overall and 3-2 in the MWC, while the visiting Prairie Fire dropped to 5-6, 1-4. St. Norbert is now 24-0 all-time against Knox.

Heuser scored 17 of her total output in the first half, when the Green Knights built a 46-27 lead. The Green Knights led 23-17 midway through the first half before going on a 10-0 run to take a 33-17 lead. Heuser hit a 3-pointer to get the run started.

Knox would get to within 17 points on several occasions in the second half, but the Green Knights scored consistently to keep the Prairie Fire at bay.

St. Norbert shot 52.5 percent from the floor, making 32 of 61 shots. Heuser was the only Green Knights to score in double figures, but all 13 players who got into the game cracked the scoring column. Emily Otzelberger and Jamie Kuhl each had eight points.

Knox shot 45.2 percent (19-for-42) from the floor but was done in by 25 turnovers and a rebounding deficit of 38-22. Lynn Mueller led Knox with 12 points.
