GALESBURG, Ill. - St. Norbert College posted 20 steals, including 10 from junior guard Stefanie Bunday, en route to claiming a 65-51 Midwest Conference win over Knox College at Memorial Gym.

The Green Knights improved to 11-3 overall and 6-2 in the MWC, while Knox dropped to 6-8, 2-6.

St. Norbert held a 17-14 lead before going on an 11-0 run to take a 28-14 lead with 6 minutes 35 seconds left in the first half. Krista Pelky had a pair of baskets in the run, while Denise Heuser connected on a 3-pointer. The Green Knights would lead 35-23 at halftime.

The Green Knights would eventually work their lead up to 49-26 with 15:15 remaining. The Prairie Fire would pull to within 54-43 with 8:22 to go, but would get no closer.

St. Norbert's superlative defensive effort - forcing 31 Knox turnovers while getting the 20 steals - helped off set a cool shooting night. The Green Knights made just 21 of 53 (39.6 percent) shots, and were just 19-for-32 (59.4 percent) at the free-throw line. Bunday had 20 points, 10 steals, six assists and four rebounds in 32 minutes. Emily Otzelberger added 11 points and Heuser nine.

Knox did not have a player score in double figures, with Kelly Ricketts' nine points leading the way. The Prairie Fire shot 46.5 percent (20-for-43) from the floor.
