Green Knights Pick Up Big Point at St. Scholastica

DULUTH, Minn. - St. Norbert College picked up a valuable point in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association standings with a 1-1 overtime tie against the College of St. Scholastica at Mars Lakeview Arena.

The Green Knights held their three-point lead in the NCHA standings with three games left to play. St. Norbert is 17-3-2 overall and 12-2-1 in the NCHA, while St. Scholastica is 15-3-4, 9-2-4.

St. Norbert took the early lead when Kyle Stroh scored his eighth goal of the year just 1 minute 19 seconds into the game off an assist from Jason Nopper.

The goal held up until the Saints cashed in on a turnover in the St. Norbert defensive zone, with Aaron Spotts scoring with 26 seconds left in the second period off assists from Brett Corcoran and Jordan Chong.

St. Norbert had two power-play chances in the third period and one in the overtime, but couldn't score. The Saints had a power play for the last eight seconds of overtime.

St. Norbert held a 24-21 shots-on-goal advantage, and was 0-for-5 on the power play. B.J. O'Brien made 20 saves for St. Norbert.

Zach Kleiman made 23 saves for the Saints, who were 0-for-6 on the power play.
