St. Norbert Closes Out Hilton Head Trip With Split

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - St. Norbert College split a pair of match on its last day on its southern trip with a 9-0 win over Farleigh Dickinson-Florham and a 6-3 loss to Spring Arbor.

The Green Knights picked up a pair of 6-0, 6-0 wins in singles action against FDU-Florham. Nick Acosta topped Michael Capece at No. 5 and Tommy Weiler beat Ambrose Cooke at No. 6. In doubles action, Nate Tackaberry and Eric Koppman beat Kevin Ly and Cooke 8-0 at No. 2, while Matt Schmitz and Derek Harrington beat Joshua Beacon and Capece 8-0 at No. 3.

Koppmann beat Andrew Scamparino 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles, while Tackaberry beat Ly 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3 singles and Matt Lobeck also topped Beacon 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4.

Against Spring Arbor, Matt Lobeck beat Chris Swank 7-5, 6-1 at No. 5 singles. Acosta and Mike Hyrczyk beat Rafael Schuster and Kyle McCully 9-7 at No. 1 doubles, and Schmitz and Harrington beat Pat McIlrath and Nate Scholten 8-4 at No. 3 doubles.
