WHITEWATER - St. Norbert College reached a milestone on a couple of fronts with a 4-2 win over Alma College in an elimination game at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional at UW-Whitewater's van Steenderen Field.

The Green Knights (31-7) earned their first-ever NCAA Tournament win in their third all-time appearance. The triumph was also St. Norbert's 200th win as an athletic department this season, the first time the school has reached that plateau. St. Norbert will face the loser of the Augustana College-Aurora University game at Noon Saturday.

Alma (31-10) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning and led until St. Norbert plated four runs in a messy third inning. Alyssa McGray had an infield single, and the Scots tried to cut down McGray at second on Collette Ullmer's sacrifice bunt attempt but the throw was late. Tracy Palmer reached on an infield error with McGray scoring, and Stephanie Ortiz's single plated Ullmer and Palmer. Kayla Krueger later singled and stole second and scored on Brittany Narges' single.

The Scots got a run back in the fourth to cut it to 4-2, but theywould not get a base runner in the last three innings against St. Norbert pitcher Kari Corbeille. Corbeille allowed four hits with one walk and five strikeouts.

St. Norbert had five hits in the game, with no player getting a multi-hit game. Brieanne Oehlke had the Green Knights' lone extra-base hit with a sixth-inning double.
