Three Green Knights Receive All-Great Lakes Region Mention

DE PERE - Three St. Norbert College women's softball players have been selected to the All-Great Lakes Region team as selected by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

Junior pitcher/designated hitter Kayla Krueger was named to the second team as a utility player, while senior catcher Brieanne Oehlke and senior shortstop Tracy Palmer were named to the third team.

Krueger, a Denmark native and Denmark High School graduate, finished the year 13-3 with a 1.56 earned run average and .220 batting average against. Krueger, who had six complete-game shutouts, also hit .331 with two home runs and 20 RBIs.

Oehlke, a Fremont native and Weyauwega-Fremont High School graduate, hit .322 this season with five home runs and a school-record 36 RBIs.

Palmer, a New London native and New London High School graduate, hit a team-high .381 with a school-record 51 hits. Palmer also had one home run and 13 RBIs and had a .952 fielding percentage at shortstop.

St. Norbert finished the season 33-8 and went unbeaten through the Midwest Conference regular season and tournament. The Green Knights then went 3-2 in the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional to place third.
