Green Knights Win Fourth Consecutive MWC Outdoor Title

MONMOUTH, Ill. - St. Norbert College won its fourth consecutive Midwest Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship with a deep performance at Monmouth College's April Zorn Memorial Stadium.

The Green Knights totaled 194 points to outlast Monmouth's 156 points to capture their tenth overall MWC outdoor track and field title. Beloit College was a distant third place with 86 points. Kelly Heniff was named the 2018 Midwest Conference Elite 20 Award winner for women's track at the conclusion of the meet.

St. Norbert became the first program in Midwest Conference history to sweep women's cross country, women's indoor and outdoor track and field championships in two consecutive years.

Maddie LeBrun won St. Norbert's second event championship by running a time of 57.19 seconds in the 400-meter run.

St. Norbert had four players finish in the top eight in both the 800-meter run and 400-meter hurdles. Taylor Domro was second in the 800 with a time of 2:15.66, followed by Megan Cibulka in fourth (2:21.80), Kelley Gardipee in fifth (2:22.87) and Claire Van Beek in sixth (2:23.89). Peyton McCauley took second in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:04.80, followed by Sarah Wiseman in third (1:05.79), Graceanne Tarsa in fifth (1:09.05) and Haidyn Mueller in seventh (1:10.38).

Sarah Parbs was second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 11:41.20, while Danielle Harris was third in 11:46.00. Mueller was second in the 100-meter hurdles at 15.09 seconds, while Hayley Winzenried was seventh in 16.31 seconds and Anna Giblin eight at 16.70 seconds. Savanna Smith was second in the discus with a distance of 119 feet 8 inches, while Kristina Herman was sixth at 116-3.

Morgan McClone was third in the 400 at 59.51 seconds and Brianne Barta was fourth in 59.72 seconds.

Winzenried and Emmy Larson were tied for fourth place in the high jump, both clearing a height of 4-10 1/2.

Gretchen Price was fourth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:58.20, while Abby Janto was sixth in 19:25.82 and Heniff was eighth in 19:31.42.

The 4x400-meter relay of Sarah Duff, Hailey Ruplinger, Barta and Wiseman were fifth in 4:06.21. The 4x100-meter relay of Wiseman, McCauley, Sydney Olund and Mueller was sixth in 50.64 seconds.
