Green Knights Finish Second at MWC Outdoor Championship

DE PERE - St. Norbert College finished in second place at the Midwest Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship hosted by the Green Knights at Schneider Stadium.

The Green Knights totaled 101 points to edge Illinois College for runner-up honors, with the Blueboys totaling 92 1/2 points. Monmouth College won the team title with 227 1/2 points.

Sam Stelloh paced St. Norbert's effort by winning the 110-meter hurdles and finishing second in the 400-meter hurdles. Stelloh turned in a time of 14.87 seconds in the 110 and had a time of 55.02 in the 400.

Noah Kleiman was third in the 400-meter hurdles in 55.61 seconds and added a fifth-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles in 16.07 seconds and was sixth in the high jump at 6 feet 0 3/4 inches.

Oren Kestell added a medalist finish by ending in third place in the high jump with a height of 6-2 3/4.

Joe Gasick finished in fourth place with a time of 1:56.53, while Matthew McKendry was fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:58.12. The 4x400-meter relay of Michael DeGroot, Stelloh, Gregory Bernasek and Ryan Priebe was fourth in 3:26.23.

Bright Boachie was fifth in the 100-meter dash in 11.21 seconds, while Adam Weigman was eighth in 11.36 seconds. Matt Holloway was sixth in the 800-meter run in 1:58.76, while Karter Decker was sixth in the triple jump at 43-8.

Travis Heschke was eighth in the triple jump at 42-7 1/2, while Jon Gregory was eighth in the 200-meter dash in 22.96 seconds and Priebe eighth in the 400-meter dash in 51.00 seconds.
