Green Knights Finish MWC Slate With Two Wins

DE PERE - St. Norbert College closed out its Midwest Conference schedule with a pair of dual wins, earning a 6-3 victory over Lawrence University and a 8-1 win over Ripon College.

The Green Knights (8-4, 7-2 MWC) finished in third place in the regular-season standings and will play in the MWC Team Tournament in April.

St. Norbert faced Lawrence indoors at the Green Bay Tennis Center. Hannah Keller and Emma Merrill defeated Morgan Fisher and Jacki Healy 8-5 at No. 2 doubles, while Nicole Pfotenhauer and Bethany Zoch topped Lauren Aturaliya and Amelia Watson 8-3 at No. 3.

Hannah Swajanen outlasted Aturaliya at No. 2 singles with a three-set win by scores of 6-2, 3-6, 6-4. Keller topped Fisher 6-0, 6-4 at No. 4 singles, while Zoch topped Watson 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5. Morgan Moxon defeated Healy 6-1, 6-3 at No. 6.

St. Norbert then traveled an hour to face Ripon indoors at the Red Hawks' Willmore Center.

The Green Knights swept the three doubles points. Lauren Paulson and Swajanen beat Hannah Ryback and Tamera Holland 8-3 at No. 1, while Keller and Merrill beat MacKenzie Warner and Faith Nielsen 8-2 at No. 2. Pfotenhauer and Zoch blanked Gemma Koester and Madison Rostallan 8-0 at No. 3.

Swajanen earned a 7-5, 6-3 win over Warner at No. 2 singles, followed by Pfotenhauer's 6-3, 6-0 win over Nielsen at No. 3. Keller beat Holland 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4, while Zoch shutout Rostollan 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5. Moxon posted a 6-1, 6-0 win over Becky Rossem at No. 6.
