The St. Norbert College basketball teams are looking for wins against Ripon College on Wednesday, Feb. 10. At the same time they are hoping to raise money and awareness for breast cancer. The Green Knight women host Ripon at 5 p.m. followed by the men at 7 p.m. During the game there will be contests and raffle drawings for prizes. Admission is free to anyone who wears pink to the game.
All proceeds will go to the Kay Yow/Wisconsin Basketball Coaching Association Cancer Fund. Kay Yow, former North Carolina State University head women's basketball coach, served as the catalyst for the initiative after her third reoccurrence of breast cancer in 2006. The event is also a part of the WBCA Pink Zone, a global, unified effort for the WBCA's nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. Yow died in 2009. For more information contact Brieanne M. Oehlke at brieanne.oehlke@snc.edu.
