St. Norbert College will name its new Multicultural Center after alumnus Chuck Holton. The dedication will take place on Wednesday, Feb 17 at 3:30 p.m. in the Holton Multicultural Center, which is located in the Ray Van Den Heuvel Family Campus Center. For directions, go to http://www.snc.edu/map

After starring in basketball and track for St. Norbert, Holton became the first African-American to graduate from the college, in 1952. He went on to play six years with the Harlem Globetrotters, then returned to his hometown of Milwaukee to become a social worker and served almost four years as the director of the House of Peace organization.

Along with Holton and his family, St. Norbert College president Thomas Kunkel and other invited guests, including students, will be on hand for the dedication.

You can learn more about Chuck Holton at http://www.snc.edu/communications/magazine/2009v41n3/holton.html.
