The Colleges Against Cancer (CAC) organization of St. Norbert College has selected Caitlin Petersen to serve as its honorary chair for this year's American Cancer Society Relay for Life of De Pere. Caitlin is a freshman at St. Norbert College. She was determined to join CAC due to her mother's passing in 2009. Her mother struggled with cancer for 15 years, willing herself to live to see Caitlin graduate from high school. Caitlin wants to make a difference in the lives of people affected by the disease, and as the CAC honorary chair, she will tell her story as a care-giver to honor and remember her mother, celebrate others' survivals and fight back against the disease.
The world's largest grassroots fundraising movement, Relay For Life mobilizes communities throughout the country to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and provide participants with an opportunity to fight back against the disease. Relay brings together friends, families, businesses, hospitals, schools, faith-based groups
