St. Norbert College redesigning school mascot

There will be a new face on the field when the St. Norbert College football team opens its season September 4. The college is redesigning its Green Knight mascot, and plans to debut the new look during the first game at its brand-new Donald J. Schneider Stadium.

The redesign is a highly collaborative process, reflecting the passions of a college community that has seen impressive athletic success in recent years. The mascot committee includes representatives from the athletics department, student government, faculty, alumni and student affairs, as well as athletes themselves. To broaden participation still further, the committee has held open forums to solicit feedback from students, faculty and staff.

Responsibility for incorporating the input into a final design will fall to Nick Patton, graphic designer in the college office of communications. Patton said that while options abound, and range from the straightforward to the whimsical, at the end of the day the mascot will be "easily identifiable as the St. Norbert College Green Knight," and a source of pride and school spirit for the entire campus community.
