Ten students in the St. Norbert College Latin program under the instruction of William Hyland, adjunct assistant professor of Latin, took the American Classical League's national Latin exam in March. The exam tests not only students' understanding of Latin, but also their comprehension of Greco-Roman culture. All ten students performed well on the test; eight of them earned special medals of recognition.

The ten students participating were: Christopher Barkinge (Westmont, Ill.); Rebecca Berg (Brookfield, Wis.); Kyle Gorman (Milwaukee, Wis.); Jack Hayford (Neenah, Wis.); Christopher Hibbard (Green Bay, Wis.); Matthew Janda (Glen Ellyn, Ill.); Catherine March (Iron Mountain, Mich.); Liam McDonnell (La Grange, Ill.); Kevin McGillivray (Green Bay, Wis.); and Francis Sandberg (White Bear Lake, Minn.).

For more information, contact Michael Lovano, St. Norbert College's director of the classical studies program and assistant professor of European history, at 920-403-3464 or at michael.lovano@snc.edu.
