St. Norbert College to offer new adult non-credit Hmong culture classes

Beginning this fall, St. Norbert College will offer non-credit Hmong culture classes for adults starting Sept. 14.

The course consists of ten 90-minute evening classes taught by Katie Thao, an experienced educator and Hmong speaker. The class is to provide adults in northeast Wisconsin with an understanding of Hmong language and culture and especially welcomes those in education, healthcare, law enforcement and social services to learn more. No prior knowledge of the Hmong language is necessary and there are no tests or homework assignments. The emphasis is on learning in an educational and fun environment.

Classes are on Tuesdays, from 6-7:30 p.m., starting Sept. 14 through Nov. 16. The course fee is $140 and includes class instruction and materials. The deadline to register is Tuesday, Sept. 7. Class size is limited to 15 students.
