St. Norbert College presents the 2010 Alumni Awards

The St. Norbert College Alumni Board presented their 2010 Alumni Awards on Oct. 22 to Kelly Biese, Michael Daniels, and Wayne Lubner. The event included a Mass and dinner on the college's campus celebrating the achievements of this year's recipients. The awards honor those alumni who have demonstrated a spirit of personal growth and achievement.

Kelly Biese, of Lima, Ohio, received the Young Alumni Award, which is presented to an alum who received a degree from St. Norbert College within the last ten years and demonstrates ideals that exemplify St. Norbert's tradition of service, vision and community activism.

Biese graduated cum laude from St. Norbert College in 2001 with a bachelor of music degree. She is currently the music teacher at three Catholic elementary schools and Lima Central Catholic High School. Biese is an active member of her community by serving as a volunteer for numerous organizations, which serve adults, teens and children.

Michael Daniels, of Green Bay, Wis., received the Distinguished Achievement Award, presented to an alum who set a standard of excellence in his or her has chosen field, demonstrated significant professional accomplishment and exemplified the educational mission of St. Norbert College.

Daniels graduated from St. Norbert College in 1986 with a degree in business administration. In 2000, he co-founded Nicolet National Bank with Robert Atwell. Daniels remains there today as President and COO. Daniels serves on several boards in the Green Bay area in addition to sharing time and resources with St. Norbert.
Wayne Lubner, of Green Bay, Wis., received the Alma Mater Award, which is presented to an alum who has demonstrated distinction in his or her chosen field, lives life reflecting the Norbertine spirit and Christian ideals taught by the College, and reflects honor to the College in pursuing personal or professional activities.

Lubner is an accomplished businessman who has worked for 36 years in a variety of leadership roles for Schneider National. He actively serves his community by volunteering on behalf of numerous organizations, including St. Norbert College. Lubner graduated from St. Norbert College in 1971 with a bachelor in business administration. He served two years in Vietnam as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and upon his return began work at Schneider National.
