DE PERE: On Saturday, Oct. 23 from 9-11 a.m., St. Norbert College students will be available to rake leaves and clean out gutters for De Pere residents requesting volunteers. The students will also pass out battery packets for fire protectors to the older homes in the community to help prevent fires. Interested residents should call St. Norbert College Department of Leadership, Service and Involvement at (920) 403-4023. Requests will be accepted until Oct. 15 on a first come first serve basis. For the first time with Make A Difference Day, St. Norbert College students, faculty, alumni and parishioners will extend their helping hands throughout the Green Bay area to work in food pantries to prepare for Thanksgiving. Created by USA Weekend Magazine, Make A Difference Day is an annual event that takes place on the fourth Saturday of October nationwide.
