Applebee's president to speak at St. Norbert College's CEO Breakfast

Michael Archer, president of Applebee's and Applebee's International and a 1982 graduate of St. Norbert College, will present "Applebee's: Contemporizing a 30-Year Old Brand, One Neighborhood at a Time"as part of the CEO Breakfast and Strategy Series, Tuesday, April 5, from 7:30-8:30 a.m. at F.K. Bemis International Center, St. Norbert College campus. The session is sponsored by VerHalen Commercial Interiors.

Mike Archer was appointed President of Applebee's Services, Inc., and Applebee's International, Inc. in May 2008 and leads the overall strategic direction for all functional areas of Applebee's Neighborhood Grill and Bar, the largest casual dining restaurant chain in the world. He is primarily responsible for executing the vision and future brand evolution for the organization, and developing tactical and strategic plans to improve results in all areas of the business.

Previously, Mike served as president and chief operating officer of T.G.I. Friday's U.S.A., where he led the successful turnaround of the T.G.I. Friday's brand.

Before joining T.G.I.Friday's, Mike was president and chief executive officer of Z'Tejas Southwestern Grill.

Dedicated to ensuring the development of others in the industry, Archer has been active with the MultiCultural Foodservice and Hospitality Alliance and the Women's Foodservice Forum (WFF); where he previously served on the board of directors and executive committee.

Currently, Archer serves on the National Board of Directors for the Make-A-Wish
