St. Norbert College graduate and popular Hollywood character designer and digital artist Chris Ayers (pronounced airs) will hold a book signing at St. Norbert on Wednesday, April 6, from 1:30-4:30 p.m. in the main area of Todd Wehr Hall. (Todd Wehr Hall is building #15 on the campus map http://www.snc.edu/map.) He will be signing both volumes of "The Daily Zoo" with his trademark flourish of a character drawn specially for each bookholder. He will also have a sneak peak of his latest book, MY Daily Zoo (a drawing activity book for all ages) which is due out in mid-May.

Chris Ayers is a 1997 graduate of St. Norbert College. His first work in movie design was on the film "Bubble Boy" in 2000. Since then, Ayers has amassed 28 film credits and has written two books. His most recent book is "The Daily Zoo-Year 2" (2009 DesignStudio Press), the sequel to the popular "The Daily Zoo." Both books were created as a result of his fight with acute myelogenous leukemia (AML - a cancer of the blood) in 2005. As a cancer survivor, Chris donates a portion of his book sales to cancer-related charities and research.
"Being a cancer survivor is not my sole identity, but it is a part of who I am and plays a large role in how I now view the world around me," Chris explains on his website www.chrisayersdesign.com. "It was a scary, painful journey for me as well as my friends and family. Luckily, things have gone well so far and I continue to try to live one day at a time, blessed with the many 'gifts' from my cancer experience."

Ayers other film credits include "Men In Black II," "Austin Powers in Goldmember," "The Santa Clause 2," the latest "Star Trek," "Incredible Hulk," and "Fantastic Four."
