St. Norbert College students excel at Sigma Tau Delta conference

The St. Norbert College English department sent 10 students to the 2011 National Sigma Tau Delta Convention in Pittsburgh, Penn., in March. Sigma Tau Delta is one of the largest members of the Association of College Honor Societies.

The students who attended were:

Jennifer Baranczyk, from Oconto Falls, Wis.
Samantha Christian, from Watertown, Wis.
Kaela Gedda, from De Pere, Wis.
Kellie Herson, from De Pere, Wis.
Maren Knutson, from Clinton, Wis.
Katie Meyer, from Sister Bay, Wis.
Gretchen Panzer, from Appleton, Wis.
Hannah Schmitt, from Burlington, Wis.
Chris Swietik, from Cedarburg, Wis.
Sarah Titus, from Duluth, Minn.

Over 1,100 students attended the National Sigma Tau Delta Convention this year and St. Norbert College's Gretchen Panzer (Appleton) won the Junior Scholarship award and Hannah Schmitt (Burlington) won second place for critical essay on British literature. The St. Norbert College Alpha Tau Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta has won one or more awards every year for the past 10 conventions.
