St. Norbert College Music Theatre announces cast for "Man of La Mancha"

A veteran cast has been selected by director Alicia Birder as part of the St. Norbert College Music Theatre's 50th Anniversary June production of "Man of La Mancha," which will play nine performances: June 17, 18, 24, 25 and 30 at 7:30 p.m. with matinees at 3 p.m. on June 19, 22, 26 and 29. All performances will be held in the Webb Theatre in the Hall of Fine Arts on the college campus.

The cast of 20 includes thirteen men and women who have played principal roles in previous Music Theatre productions. Parker Drew, from Milwaukee, Wis., will appear as Sancho; Michael Barber, from De Pere, Wis., as the Padre; Mark Jackson, from De Pere, Wis., as the Captain of the Guard; Robert Kohl, from Appleton, Wis., as the Governor; Alex Sabin, from De Pere, Wis., as Dr. Corrasco; Michael Robinson, from Luxemburg, Wis., as Pedro; and Matthew Kashdan, from Green Bay, Wis., as Paco.

All six females will be played by veteran St. Norbert College Music Theatre performers including Cassidy Dittmer, from De Pere, Wis., as Aldonza; Linda Feldmann, from Appleton, Wis., as the Housekeeper; Sally Harrigan-Petty, from De Pere, Wis., as Antonio; Susan Elliott, from Green Bay, Wis., as Maria; Ana Bakken, from Green Bay, Wis., as Fermina; and Natalie Robinson, from Green Bay, Wis., as Roberta.

Heading the cast in the title role as Don Quixote, Man of LaMancha, will be Mark Silverberg who recently returned to Green Bay following an opera career in New York City. Joseph Smeall, from Green Bay, Wis., will appear as the Barber, and the Muleteers will be played by Justin Mrotek, from Manitowoc, Wis.; Francis Beaumier, from De Pere, Wis.; Theodore Terrell, from De Pere, Wis.; and Chris Fugelstad, from Green Bay, Wis.

In addition, Music Theatre's second production, "The Phantom of the Opera," will be presented ten times in late July and early August. Auditions for this production will be held May 31 and June 1 at 7 p.m. in the St. Norbert College Hall of Fine Arts with rehearsals beginning June 13. Additional help will be needed working backstage on costumes, make-up, props and performance running crew. Those interested in working backstage are encouraged to come to auditions and sign up.
