Wayne P. Lubner of Wayne Lubner Consulting, a 1971 graduate of St. Norbert College and chair of the Dargan Fellowship committee at the college, announced that Derek P. Harrington, a junior computer science major/business administration minor from Kingsford, Mich., has been selected as the college's Dargan Fellow for the 2011-12 academic year. This will be the second consecutive year Harrington has received this award.
Harrington will receive a $5,000 award from the William E. Dargan Fellowship, which was created by St. Norbert College alumni to honor the late professor and his 30 years of service to the college.
Harrington is the number one singles player on St. Norbert College's varsity men's tennis team and is team captain. He is also a member of the wakeboard team, St. Norbert College Republicans and student-athlete advisory committee. Harrington maintains a 3.90 grade point average and his goal is to start his own business.
