St. Norbert College first-year students will partake in a day of community service, "Into the Streets," on Saturday, August 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The kick-off rally will be held on the college's Main Hall lawn. Following the rally, community service will be performed in approximately 25 different locations, with 300-350 students, alumni, faculty and staff participating.

"Into the Streets" encourages participants to become active in their surrounding communities through service and action. It's primary goal is to orient new students to the area and forge ties with the community. Service is a founding principle of the Norbertine Order and St. Norbert College; last year, over 350 students, faculty and staff volunteered over 750 hours of service to the community.

This day of service is organized by the St. Norbert College office of Leadership Development, Service and Engagement, with the support of the Center for Community Service and Learning and the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations.

For more information, contact the Center for Community Service and Learning at 920- 403-3363.
