The Army ROTC program at St. Norbert College won the annual Ranger Challenge this past weekend in Fort McCoy, Wis. This is the first time the St. Norbert team has won the event.

The five-man team was composed of Todd Winkelbauer '12 (Rock, Mich. ), Austin McGuine '12 (Sauk City, Wis.), Michael Hillsman '12 (Chicago, Ill.), Scott Delsart '13 (Green Bay, Wis.), and Patrick Ziesmer '13 (New Berlin, Wis.). Zach Benkert '14 (Crystal Lake, Ill.) was the team's alternate, and Sergeant First Class Donald Garmong trained the team for the event.

The weekend-long event tests team members by posing challenges in navigation, physical fitness and teamwork. St. Norbert College competed against teams from ten other colleges and universities around the Midwest including Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

The Ranger Challenge competition is held annually at Ft. McCoy for members of the Third Army ROTC Brigade. Third Brigade commander Colonel Dean Shultis will present the team with their trophy at the annual military ball next semester.
