Iron Mountain, Mich. native Erin Celello, a 1999 graduate of St. Norbert College, has had her debut novel, "Miracle Beach," published by Penguin Group. She will be a guest on "Conversations from St. Norbert College" television show on Thursday, Oct. 27.

On Friday, Oct. 28, Celello will take part in a fiction workshop class led by St. Norbert associate professor of English Laurie MacDiarmid. She will then do a reading and sign copies of "Miracle Beach" at the college's Todd Wehr Hall from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. The reading and signing are open to the public.

"Miracle Beach" tells the story of a woman who sets out to uncover a secret left behind by her husband upon his untimely death. The novel draws upon many of Celello's own life experiences: the death of a close loved one, a failed relationship, summers spent on Vancouver Island, and a love of horses and equestrian competitions.
Celello credits St. Norbert with laying the foundation for her success. "I learned so much at St. Norbert," she said. "I took my first creative writing class there, and had many incredible professors and fascinating classes. But one of the very best things about the St. Norbert College experience was the sense of community that follows you well outside the campus, and lasts long after you graduate. St. Norbert will forever feel like home, no matter where I happen to be living."
