Middle Level Honors Band Concert at St. Norbert College

The St. Norbert College music department will present the Mid-Level Honors Band Concert on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 4 p.m. in the Walter Theatre, Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts. This concert is free and open to the public.

The concert will feature a band of 194 students from 60 area schools. Brian Silvey will be the guest conductor for the seventh and eighth grade honors band, and Michael Knight will conduct the ninth grade honors band.

Silvey is Assistant Professor of Music Education and the Director of the Symphonic Band at the University of Missouri. His professional memberships include the Music Educators National Conference, College Band Directors National Association, Missouri Bandmasters Association, College Music Society, Phi Mu Alpha, Kappa Kappa Psi, and Phi Kappa Lambda.

Knight, assistant professor of music and director of instrumental education at St. Norbert, conducts the St. Norbert College Wind Ensemble. His professional affiliations include the College Band Directors National Association, Music Educators National Conference, Pi Kappa Lambda, Kappa Kappa Psi/Tau Beta Sigma, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
