St. Norbert College hosts Veterans Day events

St. Norbert College will host a ceremony and panel discussion in honor of Veterans Day on Nov. 11, beginning at 11 a.m. in front of Main Hall on campus. The ceremony will feature the ROTC Color Guard, the singing of the national anthem, and speakers including President Kunkel, Norbertine veteran Fr. Mike Weber, O. Praem., staff veteran Kevin Miller and student veteran James Warner. The ceremony will conclude with "Taps" and a 21-gun salute.

At noon, current student veterans will give tours of the campus.

Beginning at 3 p.m., a panel discussion, "What Civilians Might Not Know About the Military," will be held in the Fort Howard Theater in the Bemis International Center on the St. Norbert College campus. The panel will be moderated by Robert Pyne, director of the St. Norbert Peace and Justice Center, and will feature veterans Joseph Tullbane, associate dean of international education and outreach, Julie Friedman of the division of mission and heritage, Tom Milbourn, adjunct instructor of communication and media studies, Miller and Warner.

Throughout the day, the Student Government Association's video offering thanks will play on televisions around campus. The video features students, faculty and staff thanking veterans for their service.

All events are free and open to the public.
