DE PERE: A Norbertine Heritage Tour, featuring tours and overnight stays in European Norbertine Abbeys, is being offered Jan. 5-17, during the new January Term at St. Norbert College. Countries to be visited include Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. While some spots will be reserved for St. Norbert College students, the Norbertine Heritage Tour is open to the public. Participants will study the history, current mission and vision for the future of each Abbey. They will tour the Abbeys, pray with the Norbertine fathers and sisters, and spend time in various cities, including Amsterdam, Antwerp and Brussels. Abbeys included in the Heritage Tour are Berne Abbey in Netherlands, from which Abbot Bernard Pennings, O.Praem., and most of the early Norbertines came to Northeast Wisconsin in 1893, and Grimbergen Abbey which was founded in 1128 by the Abbey of Premontre during St. Norbert's lifetime.
