Students, faculty and staff of St. Norbert College will celebrate and serve on "Make it a Day On, Not a Day Off," the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Monday, Jan. 16.

The event involves a day of service to the local community, during which members of the St. Norbert community will teach elementary students about King's message of respect for others and assist area social service agencies dedicated to serving those in need.

A few of this year's service sites include the St. Vincent de Paul store, Paul's Pantry, Tsyunhehkwa farm, House of Hope, Howe Neighborhood Family Resource Center, and the NEW Community Shelter. A curriculum developed by Arketype, Inc., will be utilized as part of the educational sessions in the elementary schools, including Westwood and Notre Dame Elementary Schools in De Pere.
The Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is endorsed by the administration of St. Norbert College. For more information, contact Nancy Mathias at nancy.mathias@snc.edu or 920-403-3363.
