Dudley Birder Chorale presents "America Sings" concert at St. Norbert College

The Dudley Birder Chorale will conclude its season Friday, May 11, and Saturday, May 12, with its traditional visit to Broadway, gospel and choral pops. Entitled "America Sings," the program will feature several soloists and an instrumental ensemble featuring Kent Paulsen at the piano. "America Sings" will be presented at 7:30 p.m. both days in the Walter Theatre in the Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts on the St. Norbert College campus.
Performing soloists, who are members of the chorale selected through audition, are: Abby Fritz, Randi Fay, Mark Silverberg, Kristin Handley, Kathleen Schumacher and Tim Olejniczak from Green Bay; Linda Feldmann from Appleton, Wis.; Chad Lemerande from New Franken, Wis.; Michael Ajango, Jon Weiss Michael Barber, Amy Helgren, Pam McMullen, Amy Van De Hey and Tammara Becker from De Pere and Jon Barstow from Suamico, Wis.

The program will begin with "America the Beautiful" arranged by Green Bay native Mary Ehlinger, which was recently premiered in Carnegie Hall. The Broadway stage will be represented by several works arranged by director Dudley Birder. Featured will be "Les Misérables," "Show Boat," "Music of the 40's," "Rodgers and Hammerstein" and "Broadway Revisited."

The world of Gospel will be represented by Robert Ray's popular "Gospel Mass" with Tim Olejniczak, Michael Barber, Tammara Becker and Rändi Fay as soloists, and by Thomas Dorsey's "Precious Lord Take My Hand," featuring Kent Paulsen on the piano.
