St. Norbert College to host WSMA Jazz Ensemble and Show Choir Festival

The St. Norbert College music department will welcome the Wisconsin School Music Association (WSMA) for their 2012 Jazz Ensemble and Show Choir Festival on May 4 at 3 p.m. Concerts will take place in the ballroom of Michels Commons, the Bush Arts Center and the Walter Theatre, Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts on the St. Norbert College campus. The event is free and open to the public.
Area schools will showcase their jazz ensemble and show choir music. The WSMA is a proud partner with more than 3,500 music teachers and school administrators in the education of more than 200,000 students. WSMA provides statewide music programming activities, offers leadership and support for school music programs, and advances music as an integral part of the school curriculum and community life to ensure that all students have opportunities, which encourage lifelong involvement in music.
Area schools that will be performing include: Green Bay Southwest High School, Green Bay East High School, Green Bay Preble High School, De Pere High School, West De Pere High School, Ashwaubenon High School, Pulaski High School, Iron Mountain High School, Kimberly High School, Fond du Lac High School, Oconto Falls High School, Denmark High School, Norway High School, Bay Port High School, St. Mary Central High School and Sheboygan North High School.
