Sandy Odorzynski, professor of economics at St. Norbert College since 1978, was honored by two alumni for the impact she had on them as students. Dr. Jeffrey Steagall, a 1985 graduate of St. Norbert, and Sue Rine-Steagall, a 1986 grad, created the endowment of $25,000 to support students pursuing the study of economics. The Steagalls want to honor the impact Odorzynski had on Jeff Steagall's educational and professional pursuits.

The Sandra J. Odorzynski Endowed Scholarship Fund was presented at the faculty awards banquet on Friday, April 27.

Odorzynski was cited for teaching excellence as a graduate instructor at Purdue University, and earned the outstanding teaching award at St. Norbert College in 1982. She earned the college's community service award in 2007, and is the first female faculty member at St. Norbert College to achieve the rank of full professor.

From 1995 to 2011, she was selected annually to join a national faculty team conducting training in market economics for teachers in emerging countries, through the Economics International Program of the Council for Economic Education (CEE). Seminar locations included: Belarus, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico, Paraguay, Russia, Slovakia, South Africa, Ukraine and Uruguay.
