Auditions for adult roles in the music theatre production of "The Sound of Music" will be held in the Walter Theatre, St. Norbert College Hall of Fine Arts at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 29 and Wednesday, May 30.

There are six principal roles: those of Maria Reiner, The Mother Abbess, Elsa Schrader, Captain Von Trapp, the comic Max Detweiler and 17 year old Rolf. There are also several male and female supporting roles and a 24-voice female chorus, which plays an extremely important part in the musical. Ten performances are scheduled, July 18-29. Rehearsals begin June 11. The children's roles were previously selected.

Those auditioning for singing roles are asked to sing a selection of their choice, providing music for the staff accompanist. Readings for speaking roles will be taken from the script.

For information or to sign up to work on one of the many crews, call Dudley Birder at 920-403-3116 or email dudley.birder@snc.edu.
