St. Norbert College to host fourth annual SNC Day

St. Norbert College is opening its doors to the community on Saturday, Sept. 22, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., for the college's fourth annual SNC Day. SNC Day provides an opportunity for area residents to visit campus and learn more about what the college has to offer.
The event will feature food, two stages of entertainment, children's activities, artists, boat rides on the Fox River, mini-lectures by St. Norbert College professors, and, new this year, the Don Schneider Memorial 5k Challenge Run. The St. Norbert College football team will play Carroll University at 1 p.m. at Schneider Stadium and admission is free. A Lamers trolley will provide transportation from the main campus to the stadium. Specific events and times include:

Entertainment:

Gazebo stage:
10-12 a.m. -- Big Mouth - An eclectic mix of blues and jazz
12:30-2:30 p.m. -- Nashville Pipeline- one of the areas' premier country bands
3-5 p.m. -- Boogie and the Yo-Yo'z -- rockin' fun
7 p.m. -- St. Norbert College music groups' fall concert at Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts

International Stage:
10-11 a.m. -- Heritage Academy of Irish Dance - High-energy Irish step dancing. 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. --Duck Creek Crossing - Native American dancers and drummers. The drum beat has the same rhythm as a heartbeat. It's hypnotic and entrancing.
1-2:15 p.m. -- Frogwater - An Irish/Celtic acoustic musical group from Milwaukee, renowned for their musical virtuosity and exuberant live performances.
2:30-3:30 p.m. -- Nia African Dancers - The group promotes an appreciation of diversity through the practice and performance of African-style dancing and drumming.
3:30-5:30 p.m. -- The Movie "Crossing Borders" will be shown in Fort Howard Theater with a panel discussion to follow.

11 a.m.-1 p.m. WIXX -- live radio broadcast

Elsewhere on campus throughout the day:
- Boat rides on the Fox River
- Horse-drawn wagon rides through campus, - Trolley transportation to the college's Schneider Stadium for the SNC vs. Carroll University football game (free admission)
- Crew demonstration
- Art and craft show
- Mini-lectures by SNC faculty
- Geocaching -- digital treasure hunting - Health, wellness and fitness activities
- Tours of the new Michels Commons with a special event/wedding show
- Campus building tours
- Food and beverages
Especially for Kids:
- Jumpin' on the Mall -- cool inflatables
- Crafts, face painting, balloon artists, Lego tables, finger printing and more!

De Pere businesses will also have special offerings and entertainment throughout the day.
