St. Norbert College will host an exhibit of student work from Monday, Oct. 1, through
Friday, Oct 26, in the newly renovated Godschalx Gallery of the college's Bush Art Center.
"Graphic Design and Rock & Roll" is a compilation of posters that were designed,
photographed and illustrated by students of Brian Pirman, associate professor of art, in
his advertising design class. The project required the invention of a fictitious rock band
and to design a poster that promotes the band. The posters span approximately a
decade.
The Jeanne M. Godschalx Gallery was renovated in June to match the college's Bear
Gallery and Permanent Collection Gallery. The renovation included improvements to the
walls and a new plaque in memory of student Jeanne Godschalx who died just after
completing her art degree in 1974. The gallery was established for the enrichment of all
those at St. Norbert College as well as members of the surrounding community. The
gallery is free and open to the public Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
