St. Norbert College theatre program to present “A Midsummer Night's Dream”

The St. Norbert College theatre program will present Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" starting Friday, Nov. 2, and running through Saturday, Nov. 10, in the Webb Theatre, Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts on the St. Norbert College campus.

All shows will be held at 7:30 p.m. with the exception of Nov. 4, when a 2 p.m. matinee will be presented, to be followed by a discussion with the cast.

The classic Shakespeare comedy tells the story of four Athenian lovers and six amateur actors whose relationships are complicated by parental interference and the manipulation of the fairies of the forest.

Stephen Rupsch, assistant professor of theatre studies and director of theatre, will direct the production; costumes, sound and lights will be handled by April Beiswenger, assistant professor of theatre studies. Theatre studies major Kari Fritsch (De Pere) will design the set.

The cast includes Shaina Beckers (Green Bay), Samuel Evers (Appleton, Wis.), Aaron Isbell (Grafton, Wis.), Ryan Penkal (Germantown), Jordan Podoll (Berlin), Michael O'Malley (De Pere), Cory Estreen (Pulaski), Clara Wendland (Sturgeon Bay), Mariah Martin (Hermansville, Mich.), Michelle Poncelet (Goodhue, Minn.), Erich Wegenke (Sun Prairie), Steve Westergan (De Pere), Alyssa Widolff (Galesburg, Ill.), Arielle Zelinski (Menasha), Kelsey Smith (Green Bay), and Andrea Fietzer (Neenah).

Tickets are on sale now. Advance prices are $10-$12 for adults and $7 for students, or $12-$14 for adults and $9 for students at the box office on the day of the performance.
