Asian Celebration Week at St. Norbert College

De Pere: The St. Norbert College Department of Cultural Diversity presents Asian Celebration Week with three events, a Talent Show, Crafts Night and Fashion Show, Oct.11-14 in the Ray Van Den Heuvel Campus Center. All events are free and the community is invited to attend to celebrate Asian cultures from all over the world. The Talent Show, Oct. 11 from 6- 8 p.m. will feature St. Norbert College students performing their talents. Other performances include traditional Hmong dancers and a performance by the Chang Boys from Oshkosh playing traditional Hmong wind instruments made from bamboo. Snacks and refreshments will be served. The Crafts Night, Oct. 13 from 5-7 p.m. will feature origami and calligraphy presentations. All are welcome to join making origami, a Japanese paper folding art form and writing their names in Calligraphy, a Chinese art of fine handwriting. The Fashion Night, Oct. 14 from 6-8 p.m. will feature students showcasing different traditional costumes from all over Asia, including China, Hmong, Japan, Korea, Laos, Singapore, Thailand and more.
