The Green Bay Packers Foundation announced St. Norbert College as one of the recipients of a grant on Tuesday, Feb. 12.
The Packers distributed a record $450,000 to 145 civic and charitable groups at a luncheon in the Lambeau Field Atrium.
The college was awarded $2,000 for its STAR program. STAR (Students Taking Academic Responsibility) program provides first-year students of color the opportunity to adjust to their new environment and addresses the challenges they may face during their first year in college. STAR program activities are varied but focus around academic, social and cultural support. Packers Foundation grants are awarded to organizations for outstanding effort and service. Since the beginning of the foundation in 1986, over $3 million has been distributed to award recipients.
