Nancy Mathias, director of the Sturzl Center for Community Service and Learning at St. Norbert College, will participate in Campus Compact's "Diving Deep: Campus Compact's Institute for Experienced Civic and Community Engagement Practitioners" from July 9-12. Mathias and other participants will explore the future of the service-learning and civic and community engagement movement.
Attendees will engage in an inclusive learning community where they will have the opportunity to expand their leadership capacity to sustain and grow civic engagement at their institution and in the field. They will learn tools and strategies to strengthen their ability to foster and deepen their campuses' engagement with communities and strategize how they can help shape the future of the field.

Participants were selected because of their commitment to incorporating service into their teaching, learning and research, and their success in strengthening civic engagement activities on their campuses. Upon leaving "Diving Deep," they will have strategies to shape the future of the field and an action plan to further their work on their campuses.
